Their oldest and youngest grandchildren, Kim and Chinta, helped the couple start The-OGs (The Original Grandparents), a site dedicated to showing how old fashioned courtship works in modern times. Their site and advice became so popular they were featured on The Today Show!! I am not married, but I know one day my husband will come. My Grandparents (on both sides), were married over 50 years. I know God has truly blessed this union. They have given their following generations a standard to live by.
People say this a lot, but… LIVE, LOVE & LAUGH, is definitely the key to a happy life!!
I believe in Love
My poem – LOVE IS
You asked me what Love IS? And I tried to number from 1-10
And could only think of beginnings that never end and tell you in metaphors and imaginations in my mind of what Love is?
From the first moment my eyes touched yours I could not help but smile as my lips widened to release the hello hiding behind my tongue and the light breath of relief that followed with the ecstatic charge of your acknowledgment by the nod of your head.
Your glance still caresses’ my mind as it follows me down colored aisle of promises that I could only see from fields of golden flowers that we laid in as clouds caught our wishes and we stole kisses before taking flight into skies so blue that only a painters wandering mind could have created while preparing a canvass that will stand the test of time so too our love that stretches from year to year like a never ending river that has many bends and turns but always finding a new beginning on the other side.
Even when you are out of my sight how I smile at the grace and favor
Bestowed on me when He sent you to me to set me free
Of my childish games making me strive to do better and to carefully guard your heart
with new found hands
So let me define it in words that only my heart can write
Love Is, Love Is, Love is………Love is

What I respect is my Granparent’s marriage… my Pop Pop passed 27 years ago and my Grandma never even dated again. I still love to hear her tell stories of him. That’s beyond “death do us part.” That’s infiniti! And that has really earned my respect… I look for it myself (but I know it is rare).

You two bring such hope for a long lasting marriage. I am a newly wed of 4 months and can’t picture my life without my husband. Reading your love story brings more hope and joy to our marriage. My grandparents were married for 54 years before my grandmother passed, and it was so wonderful to see them kiss and hold hands. I pray that my husband and I share as many years together as my grandparents or as the two of you have.
