My story is a long interesting one. To sum it up let me say that I black boy raised by a single mother in JErsey City, NJ aka KILLtown.. murdering and robbing is all that goes on there. I am proud to say I am not a product of my enviorment. I never been rob or murdered(obviously). I am currently a 19-year-old junior at Penn State University. I am in the top five percentile of my college of communications. The Naacp promised a Scholorship in 2008. I never recieved anything. This is just a small excert of my life. I swear if a had a camera following me all day 1 million and 1 people will tune-in. im new to twitter but i already have nearly 100 followers! My reasoning for writing is because I would love to have a event sponsored by Diddy Corp. in or near my hometown of jersey city. We have extensive venue options Including East Rutherford,Nj( the actual home of the jets and giants) and plenty of others. LETS GET TOGETHER ON SOMETHING!!!(PAUSE)

  22. tanae wright says:

Hi my name is tanae I’m 22yrs and from Texas.I recently opened up my OWN Clothing and Accesory Boutique, I have always wanted to become a big name fashion designer with my own business since elementary school, I used to hot glue gun different materials together making clothes and purses out of blue jean pockets.I officially learned how to sew in high school and I haven’t stopped since, everything I do now I have taught myself, and I can’t do anything but Thank GOD for this blessing he gave me, and family and friends for their support.I got my wish and working to make it bigger and even better.

  23. Anthony Mair says:

This time last year I was working in retail selling clothing etc. I was talking to a co worker who’s husband was this awesome photographer. She was telling me all about what he does day by day etc and I was thinking about how I really want to work towards that. One year later this past weekend I won an award for best portrait for my photography from the associated press. Ten minutes later I had to collect an award for my ex co workers husband. Who would have thought that one year later after admiring and looking up to this photogrher I would be collecting an award for myself and for him.

  24. I finished my studies in Somatology (Cosmetology for my US friends) and worked in the health, beauty and wellness industry for 5 years, sometimes under very cruel and stupid bosses.

My dream was to get out from under the wings of bosses and 3 years ago I took a big leap (and loan), bought my first IPL/Laser Combination machine, and started my own IPL/Laser and Lash extension company. I now have three machines, five employees and am the coolest boss ever – lol:)

It was the best and most expensive choice I ever made and I am finally free from others telling me what to do with my life and time. I do not do authority from others well – way to bull headed for that:)

I now make my own money, have time to spend with my family (most important thing in my life) and the freedom to expand as much as I want to.

This may not seem like a big move for most people, but when you work a 14 hour day, just to make other people wealthy, getting out there and on your own feet, is HUGE for me.

Thanks for the inspiration that we can all draw from you making your dreams come true.

    xoxo Nina

I am living out my dreams by pursuing an higher education. I am a Pasadena, California native attending Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, GA. I am a senior and Politcal Science major. With the study of politics I dream to be an advocate for educational policies & womens rights.

  28. Thinking positive and working hard is how I achieve my goals/dreams. I am originally from Atlanta, worked hard to get into the music business as a scout, moved to NYC at 26 to work at Virgin Records in A&R, stayed through 2 mergers and landed my A&R job at Capitol Records. I loved my job, worked extremely hard, and went over and beyond what I had to do, because I enjoyed it!

After 5 years in NYC, I quit my job (I know!!! I must be crazy!!) and moved to Atlanta to support my husband in pursuing his career in opening his own neighborhood pub. We had a babes (now in her terrific twos!), bought a house, started our pub, and now I have started my own design company doing custom invitations, notecards, and free lance designs (my other passion besides music!). I also do social media for our bar and have a tot blog for kids!

I just believe that anyone that puts their heart and soul into what they love, can become successful. Just as beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, I think success is as well. I learn from the hard times, and only look forward. I still have dreams – I think I wake up with a new one everyday! That is what keeps me motivated!!

  30. Maureen Shea says:

Professional Boxer 15-2 (9ko) Current NABF Featherweight Champion

Some people call me “The Bronx Bombshell” Some call me “The Real Million Dollar Baby” others Just call me “Moe”……… I was born and raised in the Bronx, New York. Born in 1981, I was raised by a strict Irish father, a now retired NYPD Detective. My mother, of Mexican heritage, worked in the airline industry and this afforded me ample travel to Mexico to study and perfect my spanish. I spent much of my youth growing up in the Bronx and in the Guadalajara area of Mexico. In the amateurs, I was known and respected for my boxing. First training out of NYBG with Luigi Olcese, I was eventually brought to Gleasons to train with well respected trainer Hector Roca. It was a gradual process in my growth and preparation for the game of professional boxing. In 2004, when Hilary Swank came looking for Hector Roca to help her get ready for the movie Million Dollar Baby, Roca paired Swank with me. I was Hilary’s main sparring partner in preparation for Swank’s award winning role in the movie. When the international media found out that Swank attended all of my amateur bouts, I was thrust into the spotlight. It was my boxing, however, that captured the attention. Now training out of Ike’s and Randy’s boxing gym in Paerson in NJ with Head Trainer Aroz “Terrific” Gist, My team and I are looking to take my boxing to the next level in capturing my dream of becoming World Champion.

    As a Professional….
I am the current NABF Feather weight Champion and one of the top professional female boxers in the world.

I have overcome many obstacles, including being the victim of abuse, to achieve my current success. Of Irish and Mexican descent, I am blessed with a huge fan base of both ethnicities.

Highly recognized for her work as Hillary Swank’s main sparring partner for her award winning role in “Million Dollar Baby”, I have utilized my ring success and become successful in mainstream media.

In 2008, I was nominated by MTV as one of their “2008 Toughest Coaches”, for my role in their hour long season opening episode of “Made”. In that show, I guided a young lady who had no boxing experience; and in six weeks, prepared her for her first competitive amateur bout with a decision win.

Also in 2008 I was nominated by PETA for their Sexiest Vegetarian award.

I have successfully translated her ring experience to ringside, having worked as a boxing analyst alongside highly respected commentators Al Bernstein, and Rich Marotta, on Top Rank “Latin Fury” PPV. I have also guest commentated on the MSG Network during the 2006 NY Golden Gloves, and currently host my own live TV show, “Shea’s Corner” on Bronx Net Television.

I have fought as a professional at Madison Square Garden three times, under such distinguished promoters such as Top Rank, Star Boxing, and was the first female to fight on Lou Dibella’s Broadway Boxing series. My fights have been televised on Pay Per View, Azteca Television, Madison Square Garden Network, and SNY.

Currently, I am is still on my QUEST of becoming World Champion and am passionate and recognized for my
work as Motivational/Inspirational speaker journalist (8Countnews.com),TV (BxNet) /radio (Co Host Breath Boxing Radio) personality.

Keeping it positive and creating a movement! Being Grateful and Humble all the way! Blessed to have good people around me!

Little Miss Gabby presents Diverse Beauty African American Pin-Up doll collection. I am working hard on this project every single day while maintaining a regular job. I have a healthy obsession with pin-up dolls, but none of them looked like me. I have a healthy obsession with vintage items, but none of them hardly reminded me of my past childhood. I’ve decided to recruit a tattoo artist to draw me pin-up dolls in all shades of black and brown. I will do as many things as I can with them from greeting/ post cards, writing journals and notebooks, and even vintage home decor. Even though on of my MANY dreams have not completely manifested, I keep my faith in God knowing that what’s been put in my spirit is not something I should disregard. I’ll see you at the top…RETREAT IS NOT AN OPTION!

  41. gabriela rosas says:

How am I making my dream come true?
I’m making my dream by doing what I have to do, despite all the things people thought of me I’m doing what I have always dreamed of. My mother had 8 children, my older sisters got pregnant and had to drop out of high school, never going back or going to college, that was one stereo type I had to beat. My older brother didn’t graduate, also a drop out, my other brother barely made it by. Now all of them except one all have 4 children each or are expecting kids and aren’t even done fulfilling their greatest aspirations. When I went into high school I know I had to make my family proud, I was doing good until my senior year I had a slight slip up and was kicked out for a couple months, when I returned I had to prove all the administration and teachers wrongs, show them I was serious about school, and I did. Walking across that stage receiving my diploma was the greatest feeling I’ve ever felt before, My families joy was describable. Only 1 week after graduation while everybody was out partying I was in a technical school studying, soon after I joined a near by University, school isn’t cheap, the economic situation isn’t that great for anyone, after applying for endless help from the government I was still short on money, I applied for several scholarships and being denied I was stressed to say the least. I ended up getting a job to make money. Not the best job but only one I could find, I was selling bootleg movies and cd’s at a flea market in the hot sun from 4 in the morning til 4 in the afternoon, every Sunday and was only making $50 a day. It wasn’t a lot but it was something to help me out. I used that money to help pay, I eventually got a 1,000$ scholarship which helped a lot. I did what I had to do to be where I am at now. I’m proud of what I’ve done, and thankfully I’m still in school working on my associates degree in medical assisting and will be starting at another school next month to get my Certified Nursing Assistant certification. I’ve always dreamed of being where I am at now, in school working towards my dream career. And I can honestly say that if it wasn’t for me believing in myself when nobody else did, I don’t think I would be where I am at now.

I don’t know if its cause this new generation or selfishness there own needs. I want to be able to help others out in this process with there own dreams, but i have to make mine happen. Seems like my whole life i was more of the person who showed my younger siblings the ropes, not worrying about me and mines but just everyone who complained to me about things like I was GOD and i could help them. Since i was younger i seen how people looked up to me and showed me respect for being the person i was and am but now it seems i don’t even know anymore, but i don’t give up and i won’t give up you’ll prolly see me soon around this bitch lol watch when i pop up

Wow great topic!Im living my dream and here is my story.I have always been a hard worker and i believe that success come to those that act first.Im 29 now but back when i was 20 i gave myself a 10 year goal and that was to be my own boss by the time i was 30.While working at a local casino here in Detroit where i was a cocktail server. The money there was good for the average person but i knew that i was not the average person i new that i was a true bussiness woman. While at the casino i kept a positive attitude. And treated all my customers the same rather they tip me $400 or didnt tip me at all. When the economy got bad so did things there at the casino and i knew it was really time to leave i went from making 100s a day to not even making $30 in a day.But being who i am i never complained, while others waitress tripped i kept smiling and had a plan.My co-workers use to ask me how i stayed so happy. And i use to reply why complain about something you have no control over.July 2009 i decided that i wanted to open a boutique and i needed a way to make some money for it so i started selling costume jewelry and accessories to my co-workers i did so well i started to local festivals in the Detroit area! The response from people was overwhelming people kept asking if i had a store.I made good money so i then decided to just to open a Accessories Store. In April of 2010 i found the store of my dream in a local mall when i walked in this store i knew it was mine.It was a little out my price range but i worked my butt off to get it.It was hard because i had some family issues where my family needed my help a month before i opened but i knew God had me so i didnt let that stop me.On July 1,2010 i opened my store Glamm Girl Accessories,My 10 year goal i had came true 1 year early.I am 29 i am a proud business owner. It was scary but i left the casino to give full dedication to my store.I ran into alot of trials these last few months and almost let everything go .But i know that God did not bring me this far for me to give up.So despite all the issues going on.Im just gonna “WORK HARDER’!

Since I was 7 years old, I have always wanted to be a fighter pilot. Growing up fatherless, and son of a drug addict, I was even more motivated to keep clean and do good in school. I went to college, and got my degree in aviation, and joined the air force in hopes of making my dream come true. Six years later, I am becoming a fighter pilot with the US Air Force flying A-10s! I am an example that you can make your dreams reality, no matter where you come from!

I’m an aspiring model looking to get booked with big names in the fashion/entertainment industry to do print, high fashion, or music videos. Everyday I’m researching companies and finding new ways to put myself out there for recognition. I truly believe if I continue to knock on doors, one will eventually open for me. I must say I have too much ambition and I’m ready to start living life. I reside in the South Florida area. I’m currently working on a Youtube video, hoping to have it completed by this coming weekend. So look out for it!! If you know of any companies/individuals looking for a high quality model, I’M YA GIRL!!!

  63. Mikki Bey says:

    Dear Dream,

You are my subconscious filled with all of the ideas I have implanted in you actively or by default. Sending you positive signals when I am constantly battling staying afloat in the conscious mind is an exercise in heavy mental lifting.

I have given up everything in the hopes of catching you. The ever-elusive dream of all dreams. My soul yearns for the day that my reality and my reality are one in the present. Daily I dangle my own carrot to push closer to you. How can I even be sure this is real? The only evidence I have is the feeling I get when I am allowed a peek subliminally for an unspecified of unconscious time. Awakened you are fleeting. All that remains are the clues of joys left behind when I am given the opportunity to practice my craft.

We cannot be separated! I am you and you are me. I don’t have the option to give up on you because we are one. As hard a things may become I still believe with every fiber of my being that glimmers of light are upon me for a reason. Although I cannot predict when I will be able to see you, I feel you everyday that I scrape up all the energy I have to continue the process. I am committed to this, to me, to us.

The isolation of having you is a sacrifice I am willing to make. The perception of being “crazy” is alright with me. I know you. I can see you. I don’t need permission from anyone to pursue you. For as long as it takes, for every door opened then shut, I am going to keep climbing toward the culmination of my ideas.

Disappointment, embarrassment are temporary casualties I’ve felt along this journey. But I am reminded in the quiet moments with you that WE GOT THIS! WE ARE BUILT FOR THIS! Hard, maybe. Impossible? HELL NAW! It’s time to be strategic. Lay out the plan and stick to it at all cost. Luckily, we are the most capable team I know. So let’s get it!

Dream, when I start to regain consciousness and want to believe that the journey is full of potholes and quick sand just make me fall deeper in love with you and tell me to SHUT THE FUCK UP and KEEP IT MOVIN’! Please and thank you.

See you tonight. I live in you forever.

    Love always,
    Mikki

We work with children that have been sexually and physically abused. I just received a phone call announcing that I have been selected as the Executive Director of the Year, for our State. Texas has 64 Children’s Advocacy Centers, and I have been selected as “the best to do it” for the past year. This in turn means, I’m getting closer everday to living my dream!

I am living my dream. I’m not all the way there but I’m definitely on my way. I am an aspiring model, and I love the runway. I started modeling right after high school. I did a Roc the runway show in chicago with guest star Freeway. I also did a college fashion show which was hosted by Fonzworth Bentley. I got a chance to chat with him and he has been my mentor every since. I now know him as Derek. I most recently became the new face of a small clothing line called Sean Charles Apparel. I did a photo shoot which will result in my pictures being published in CNY Latino magazine, and a couple small, but national magazines. My idol is Eva Marcille, top model winner of ANTM Cycle 3. It’s a bit of a struggle being a single mother to my beautiful soon to be 2 yr old daughter. But God be for me who can be against me. This is how I’m living my dream. One day I hope to do the Rip the Runway fashion show on BET. My fierce walk keeps me going, and I really believe in myself. I know I can.

Hi diddy You have been a big inspiration since i was young. Im having a little trouble trying to live my dream. I had a bad childhood no support from parents so i had to grow up fast. My parents never stayed together. My Dad was a drinker he would always abandoned me and he never keep his word. My mom was stabbed with a machete by my sisters dad i was only about 3 or four yrs old when this happend. The hospital tryed to do all they could but it was useless she was dead. 15 minutes later one of the nurses started going crazy….talking about she cant be dead, she has kids she cant die stubborn nurse .She stayed watching my mom for a good 10 minutes then she noticed my moms hand started moving. She started screaming she’s alive she’s alive and they quickly connected her back on the machines and she was alive. She was almost cut in half by my sisters dad.Even to this day i have trouble beliving shes alive. My dads pretty old school, he whipped my ass alot for no reasons but i had to deal with it. These are just some of the things iv been thru. I find myself to be a quiet person not to many friends and i feel like built up anger contributed to me being non-friendly with people sometimes. My mom couldnt help me during high school yrs, my dad spent his money on stupid things like parting and woman aswell.Im only 23 yrs old and im having the hardest time trying to even buy a car or finding somewhere to live never had support positive guidelines to start off. I feel like giving up sometimes but music has been a big part of my life. Music was the only thing that keept me from doing stupid things. I have a Protools studio its not much but i try to make music.I just wanted to thank you for making good music at my time of frustrationand sadness. I dont expect any responce….life is a little hard right now but im trying to stay positive . I have you on my twitter thats how i know you have a positive attitude and im trying not to be negative but we all need a little help to get us on the right path. I just wanted to thank you for making good music i hope you always stay positive and give your kids great advice . Much love Gustavo

since i could recall i’ve always been a anti nazi activist in uk.i’m a second generation man with carribean parentage(sadly both are with our creator).since 2008 where i whistleblew a racist so called political party’s members list, uploaded with no thought for my wellbeing.it caused a major furore.but in doing so it helped everybody in uk to realise we live amougst racists holding positions of trust ie doctors, solicitors, lawyers, teachers, arm force personnel so many in positions were predudice could and was occurring without ordinary citizens realising.polically it helped stop this party called bnp(british national party)klan gaining seats in houses of parliament.i’ve had to endure many threats, snears, emotionally i’ve been to hell and back, but with the love of my family and friends and our creator i survived.it was worth it because as we all know there is a worldwide issue now relating to islamaphobia which i’m also a actively involved in.stopping this racial abuse in uk can at times be fraught with danger but i have faith in our creator to protect my family and myself.all my children are mixed race,my grandson is mixed race.i did this for all children to benefit and to have a fair, respectful chance to express themselves freely without racial hatred.sacrifices are made for a reason.i read about the struggles that people like marcus garvey, martin luther king, nelson mandela and many more have done for equality,we live in the 21st century, racism will always be around but sacrifices must be made for it to one day be no more.I’M AT PRESENT WRITING A BOOK,WITH MY DIARIES AS A GHOSTWRITER

Having my daughter and having to work to save set me off track of doing what i went college for-Performing Arts. I had to leave college a few months before qualifying for my diploma to find a job, then i fell pregnant a year later at 18. I have a good job working with children and i love it but theres always that thing that niggles away at you, as i said to myself, when i had my daughter, having a child isnt going to stop me from having a life,it just set me back a while! last year i applied to this well known acting school but never heard from them, then in july this year i went to a phycic night with my friends and i seen a woman who told me that this thing thats been niggling me, i need to go and do something about it as i would regret it later on in life and it WILL pay off,i dont know what to believe of these people who say they are genuine but that night when i got home my boyfriend said i have an e-mail, I went to read it and it was this acting school asking me for an audition……so i went and got in (cant say where) i started 2 weeks ago and i am enjoying it, I just hope it does pay off, due to the fact that its bloody expensive and im working my ass off to pay for it (not litterally lol) and of course to get somewhere with it! I think everyone should follow their dreams as otherwise you might look back later on in your life and wonder what if? xx

Im 20 and a 3rd year Law student in the University of Botswana, Africa. My mum (divorced from my dad) died in 2005 and until last year iv bin going through life aimlessly. I had wantd to become a lawyer to protect my mum. Hu had nt managed to go thru High School and was a tailor and dd a bit of selling. Most ppl tuk advantage of her lack of a proper education nd her kindness, so they ddnt pay their debts to her. So i wanted to protect her from that and stop her from struggling. Bt i nevr mangd to do that bt i still continued with my intention to study law. Last year i then realised that my reason for being here was no longer there and i lost focus and motivation. I nearly failed bt dad manged to give me a new direction and told me to use my profession to help less fortunate women. So evnthough my original inspiration isnt here and my dream has changed, i could still manage to help women lyk my mum….

My dream is to change the world. We’ve been battling corrupted state & political reps to bring the truth to everyone. The truth about us all of us and who we really are. Sick and tired of fighting plus what if people don’t want the world to change. What if the majority like to suffer? I will die trying though because I know everyone wants a better tomorrow. Too many of us are dying burning all our energy on nothing while we all stand around and watch them burn.

My name is Imran, I’m 19 and I love music, I believe I am living a dream, I take what I can get my hands on and pretty much I work hard to get that urge or adrenaline rush that makes you feel so good about being successful; well I’m on my way up the tall ladder. I’m currently working on college major mechanical engineering as well as minoring music, It is a Hobby/ Interest, but I plan on becoming a young entrepreneur. Famous people celebrities, I look at there faces and there still the same people to me they just have lots of Fame and attention but it sucks to not get a break from it all once in a while right? In all dreams are dreams and sitting and waiting doesn’t make a person attain such levels, but if dreams are being chased along with hard work and effort then progress will overcome success in the long run, but sometimes it’s not what you know, but it’s who you know. Thank You For Reading.

Our story begins like this My husband ShariffWali and I are two people from the background of life No dads in the picture and both are moms well one lives in the projects the other we are praying for…We both are spreading the Gospel to the world through Christian Hip-Hop without any help from anybody my husband saved up and bought all the studio equipment on his own and also learned how to make beats, work pro-Tools and reason by reading manuals because nobody was willing to take the time to teach him so he learned how to play the phantom and various keyboards on his own and by ear and also still striving with learning from manuals..Listen we came from nothing from living in a shelter to having our own studio and spreading the Word of God!
God is good it was only by His hands we are staying focused.

How am I making my dreams come true? I’m Rashmi, a 16 year old boy from London, England. I grew up watching Nickelodeon, deconstructing every show in my head, thinking out ideas, imagining one day working in Hollywood.
At 11 years old I managed to some how get in contact with Dan Schneider and his amazing wife Lisa, due to my efforts they invited me out to the Nickelodeon On Sunset studio instantly. There I was Nick On Sunset, a wonderful sound stage I could only dream about, I entered my favorite TV show ALL THAT and acquainted my true idol Mr. Dan Schneider, I have since visited some of his other shows Drake & Josh, Zoey 101 and iCarly (twice), I have been very lucky enough to be able to take in everything on set, worked in many different departments, been on camera and will endeavor to make Television history, I’ve written a new urban kids sketch comedy show. I’ve related everything to the moving moments in pop culture, just over 10 years ago Nickelodeon catered to it’s African- American community so highly and that is what I plan to help make a movement back in. I have to balance jobs and try in school when I’m here so that I can get airfare and return to a life of doing exactly what I WANT TO DO! I will continue to live my dream!

Two years ago I got fired for the first time in my life. I was working as a home health aide and I got fired because the supervisor did not care too much for me. Anyway, my friend told me that God does stuff for a reason. I’ve been writing since I was five years old. For the last ten years I’ve been doing jobs because I’m a single mother and that is what I’m suppose to do – work somewhere just to make a living. I’m done with that. I am working on becoming a publishing company. I’ve been trying to establish myself as a author and last Wednesday I was able to publish my very first ebook called White Lies! It’s a urban thriller.

My goal is to set the urban lit world into a more creative way than what it is right now. I’m glad that my people are getting it in when it comes to books, we don’t have a little corner anymore we are doing big things! But now lets take it to the next level. I’m doing what I am meant to do in this world and the world better be ready for me! That’s what I’m working on and for!

    Peace and Love

  101. Jake says:

First and foremost, I’m inspired to be the best dad I can be. I have a dad and step-dad and have a great relationship with both. My dad always took care of us and always paid the child support and was always around and my step-dad taught me how to work hard and how to keep my promises and the importance of sacrfice for family. I try and do my best to use what both of them taught me and apply that to my relationship with my two children.

I’m also inspired by those that go against the flow and make noise. I believe in going against the flow when it comes to your convictions and someone trying to persuade you otherwise. Like the saying goes, “you have to stand for something or you will fall for anything.”

It’s a beautiful thing to see so many dreamers from so many walks of life and backgrounds toss it out there into the universe for all to hear!!..
So I’m a poet who’s been writing since I was young and never fully understood my talent or process until later in life.I never fully felt responsible for what I was capable of doing, which was and is bringing out emotion in others through my writing. For a long time I just didn’t understand it. But coming into my own as a young man I started to believe that in order to achieve greatness I have to be open to it and embrace the possibility that my heart and soul have a predestined plan that I need to be accountable for. So I post and send my writing any or everywhere I can find space including this blog that I so thankfully found. I have also began to seek out musicians to collaborate with as my self taught piano skills are not up to par. My dream is to reach as many people as I can and inspire that one person who see’s something big in me and start fulfilling my journey as a published poet/songwriter.
Thanks for the space to share my journey and dream. If there is any guidance that could be given or insight or even a comment on any of the poetry I’ve posted on your blog I’d crazy appreciate it. Keep an eye out for me and keep the inspiration coming.

    New World

    Stepping over fellow man
Just to try and get ahead
    Watching children starve to death
Sweep those visions from our head
    Move along with dollar signs
    Chasing other peoples dreams
Judging those with less in life
    Faking smiles by any means
    Pushing through unhappiness
    Breaking families up with lies
    People new found selfishness
    Replaces truth within our eyes
    Conversations typed in words
    Human contact less and less
Voices saved more so for pain
On how our world is such a mess
Where love was once the answer
In it’s place now sits a fear
That we must all conform to paths
With little room for joy or tears
    Smiling seems uncomfortable
And laughter has become a treat
    Passing open begging hands
Makes us angry in the street
Why should we give away our coins
That we work so hard to gain
With such great value in our own struggle
We’ve gone blind with our own pain

My name is Jamie, one of my biggest goal was being a dj. When I was 2004 I started Highlyfe enterment when I was making my own beats, with a zoom beat machine and a digital recorder in the extra bed room of my house. I mean I had a large logo on the car and everything, at the time I was driving a 1972 ponatic lemans . Just so happen I got robbed, yeah it broke my heart, but it never stopped my drive for music, it just slowed me down and made me smarted, in march of 2009 Intoduce myself to the dj world, with Lisbon Entertainment where now I call myself DJ HighLyfe. As of today I have done only 10 to 12 parties but business it picking up and I reaching the goal. Keep in my I have 2 kids and a full time job, I learn one thing with the ecomony doing bad people are still going to party, and I will be there Dj. Since I’m new I’m only charging 50 and hr, but hey it helps pay the bills, when the time is right I’m wanna going the scratch school down in Miami, but that’s only when the time is right. The reason I chose dj and producing, is because I can’t dance I just have fun on the dance floor and like talking on the mic. Thanks for hearing my story. Its all real.

  109. Wow Mikki that was good…what a dream and what an imagination!! Ok Diddy…my Dear Diddy ;) @ the moment I’m on a journey…on a quest to discover, how is this beautiful Dream of mine going to become a reality…I feel like life is making me go through journeys in search of the possibility. Why do I always think of Martin Luther King, He is always on my mind when I think and say “I had a dream”, Four Dreams I’ve had No Five the only one’s I can remember in my life with real true meaning, three of them where about God His Lovely words of the bible, His Eye and His forgiveness and His direction and Holy spirit and my true Destiny, and the other two where about promotion, prosperity, wealth, health and a business…Not having anything @ all in this Life…I am forced to believe and only believe that since I too had a dream that my Dreams will also come true…especially because they are good dreams meant for me to prosper, for good and not for bad. But I am stuck and that’s where I start to feel like a regular person, without purpose. Only when I think of my Dreams, do I start, to feel important, like I am meant to be destined for greatness and then I think of you ;) My daughter, besides God are very important to me, and when my Dreams do come true, I will owe it all to them, for keeping me on my toe’s and keeping my head up no matter what and moving forward, my dreams are like the escalators that just go up or down but there’s no turning back because if you do is a struggle, so the only way out is forward, that’s how my dreams are, there’s just the forward. One day it will all be crystal, silver, gold and others will enjoy it, and I will be Happy that God choose me for that Dream because He had confidence in me, because He knew I had it in me to accomplish it! Love you Diddy, this is Money ~ @Moneyis4ever

  110. Hello Diddy,

I am an African American woman who has discovered a craft that has been confined to the likes of the whites for far too long.

‘Fine hand bookbinding’ is a luxury that has been enjoyed by the white Kings and Queens for hundreds of years.

Every product I make is made with leather and 24K gold. It is done by hand one at a time and is one of a kind.

I created a division of my friend’s company aimed at marketing to the black Kings and Queens of the World called BlingBooks.

I did my own P.R work and managed to get a small feature in Hip Hop Weekly a couple of years ago.

I can make any book it look like a million bucks, a jewelry box that looks like diamonds, photo albums, Guest books, notebooks, leather pictures, gold table tops and more.

I would love to make something for you like a jewelry box with one of your logos on it.

Once I can garner some attention to what I do, I will have an entire market cornered.

Just like you’re the King of music, I aim to be the Queen of books.

I can’t stop, won’t stop ’til I make it to the top

  111. Tricia Cardella says:

Hey Diddy… I am 38ys old, and went through pure hell and torture as a child, then when I became an adult, I tortured own self because that’s all I had know -misery and destruction. I didn’t know any type of normalcy at all. I used my body to survive and obtain the things I needed by stripping and selling drugs. I truly became a scholar in the school of hard knocks. I always envied educated individuals and wished i had the opportunity to go to college, but I was a minority that was just trying to survive, so I never thought a possibility for people like me. After many years of difficulty and reading self help books, I realized I was the only one holding me down now. I stopped thinking like a victim and started living each day to my FULL potential. I am at a private university obtaining my PhD! I am living a dream everyday, that once seemed fully out of reach! I know know that it’s not always the destination, it is the beautiful drive on the way there, and I’m enjoying it to the fullest!!! XOXO

  114. Kenya says:

I foolishly lived my life out until recently chasing dreams of me. Dreams of thought up plans that I had made along the way. In the meantime life was passing me by and at the end of the day I had no idea, what I was doing or getting myself into. After tapping into something “different”, experiencing a different, better, greatly improved me, through the grace of God, I started several businesses which continue to reach their next goal. I’ve been able to spend more time with my children whom just a few years ago, spent more time at day care than with me. I have had more time to pursue just about anything that the Lord lays on my heart to do and I’m forever greatful and thankful that I took that moment out to stop and figure out God’s plan for my life. At this point there is no turning back. I have learned that His plan is always better than any “plan” you thought up along your way. Even though today, I’m not a millionaire (financially), I’m so rich, so wealthy; and hey, don’t count me out just yet, He may make me one (financially) some day. Be blessed you all and forever greatful for the little things. “Glorifying Him Always” @JElyonMinistry http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WilOgbMmvkg

Completely living it…as a Christian, wife, mother of 4 (was a single mother for 11 years), dual business owner with multiple locations and employees (and I run them), full-time student with a double major and a minor (6 years in, have one major to finish up), praise dancer and event planner for my church and then some……..sleep is for the weak, this is how the strong survive! You should never have a plan B because with a plan B, you set yourself up for plan A to fail. Just follow God’s plan and keep the mentality that failure is not an option and you will be up for anything. Never say never, and stop with the excuses, you can do anything with God’s Grace. Let’s git it in!!!!!!!

  116. Lupita says:

We are from just of couple of orange county kids that are interested in fashion. Our clothing line hopes to send out a message that “we speak with our apparrel” and not weapons. We live a fasionable lifestyle and not a violent one. The number 22 represent a twenty two callber gun while FIT stands for “Fresh Is This” but also to simply highlight our fits. Our slogan is “We Shootin’ With Our Fits”. We are only known on a local level but dream of making it big.

My dream is for my son who is a freshman at VCU School of Engineering. To be able to afford to continue his college education. I raised him alone and am so proud of him. He was able to overcome his learning disability with the help of medication, graduate highschool get accepted to college. He still has an outstanding balance for his tuition, I was not able to get any loans, my credit is jacked up. I hate that that is effecting his education. I did what I had to do to make sure we had a roof over ours heads but it is hard and my credit did take a hit. He is the first one in the family to go to college. My dream is he can continue on and graduate.

  125. Kimberly Ramirez says:

Besides from trying to be a better daughter and continuing a degree in school , I grind to give my mother and family a better life, that dream house or car. I dream the day of seeing my mother not have to bust her ass off in two jobs to make sure her kids have nothing but the best. i like to think that all the grinding i do is for myself but its not. I believe that in giving is the best gift in life because you receive much more. the gift of love, humbleness and honor. I’m a 21 hispanic female and proud, and a DMV native i know how hard it took my mother 34 years ago to get here for a better opportunity growing up wasnt so easy with a single mother of 3 who lost her oldest son to a gun shot to the back. so my dream is to help young kids who struggle in school or feel alone because i was once there, and its never easy but “it gets better”. I enjoy writing and one day wish for people to hear my story through my poems. I’m also a fashion marketing student, and growing up in the DMV music and hip hop inspires us all. I’m working on a graphic tee shirt line Realez, The Prosperity Wear like Sean “P.Diddy” Combs whos really been a source of inspiration along with other artists to mention a few; Jay-z , Kanye West, Lala Vasques ect. This line is meant for everyone to wear to know they are in power, royal and strong as i allow my logo as a elephant symbolize all thats mention. each shirt I sell I donate 5 dollars to the clean water charity because im more than bless to have tap water where children and families walk miles for dirty water. I dream for success with a change, I wanna make a change because every little helps. I also dream of visiting the world to make a change, since high school all i wanted was to graduate own my line and work for a refuge. so basically I dream for change and grind each day weather it giving the street man a dollar to selling one of my shirts its a step closer to that dream house and clean water.

P.S I’ve also been grinding to work with Sean “Diddy” Combs line this man is a genius, and hes new line for mens is on 1000

  126. I am an aspiring music producer/amateur photographer/blogger who has traveled abroad serving our country. 127. Toya adams says:

I live in a small town in Texas and I go to a hbcu university in the next town over. Now Im double majoring in biology and chemistry and hoping one day to go to med school. While helping people is my passion often times I wonder if that will really make me happy or if I’m doing it so that I will no longer have to struggle as my wonderful mother has done all her life. I want to see the world and to give my future kids all they need and most of what they want but I dont want to look back one day and say maybe I should’ve pushed further for that singing career that I so desperately longed for. When I sing I’m in another world full of joy and some days when I step on the campus I ask myself why am I here. I feel I’m doing the logical thing and not what makes me happy. Will I ever be happy enough just singing here and there every now and then but turning around and waking up at early morning hours to give someone a new heart. I feel that this schooling has refined and polished me but it’s slowly fading my artistic side because I dont have time for it. This is something that worries me everyday as i wake up but I hope that with whatever decision I make, I dont look back and say I couldve done it differently!!

    Hey Diddy,

I live my dream every day by being able to wake and see another day and those that I love. I am very thankful for having what I have. I mean, I don’t have a whole lot but I make it work. I live my dream by doing what makes me happy – I HAVE FUN WITH LIFE!! My biggest dream is to make it in the fashion or music world or to own my own business. If you met me you would see why I say “Fashion and music is part of my DNA!” I receive a lot of compliments and people telling me that I should model…. well this year I turned 30 and I thought maybe it was too late. About a month ago, I was asked to be in a music video – nothing big like what you do but I did it and boy did I do it. After the video I felt well maybe I am not too old. So recently I have spent a lot of time online and sending my pics to different agencies and castings. There is no doubt that my dream will one day come tru!!
