I am Monica’s mother, David’s mother-in-law. We appreciate your taking an interest in their story. We hope to get the message across that people with Down Syndrome are no different than anyone else, and want the same things: love, acceptance and to be treated with respect. Thank you for your kind words. They are big fans of yours!
I actually know Monica and David. My sister has down syndrome and has become good friends of theirs. It is so great seeing you post this on your blog. There are not enough people in this world who promote Down Syndrome awareness. It is deeply appreciated to see someone with a voice like yours promote this.

Media is great in the way that it can open our eyes to perspectives in life that we otherwise wouldn’t directly be exposed to.Understanding how others live enriches souls an aids in tearing the fear-stricken walls that ignorance ressurrects. This story is definitely encouraging.
